Psalm 126:5 (NIV) ~ Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.
What a divine promise for revival, “Those who sow in tears shall reap with songs of joy!” Reading further in Psalm 126 verse 6, in the NIV Bible, it says, “He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.”
The first step for a harvest is prayer; praying with compassion and with tears for the lost. The story is told of two Salvation Army officers set out to found a new work, only to meet with failure and opposition. Frustrated and tired, they appealed to the General to close the rescue mission. General Booth sent back a telegram with two words on it, “TRY TEARS.” They followed his advice and they witnessed a mighty revival.
